It was truly an outfit that portrayed the Holiday Season. Dan’s remarks were short and to the point (Larry Jonas, it can be done!). Dan reminded us to think about the words in “The Rotary Four Way Test,” and how much better the World would be if we all followed these four simple, but meaningful points when dealing with each other in our daily lives.

JOHN DADO then gave a report on our club's Rotary Foundation. He reported that the Foundation was started in 1983. The original funding came from a fundraiser and donations in 1983 and totaled $18,000.00. The interest on the balance can only be distributed yearly in the area covered by The High School District. The current fund balance is around $251,000.00 and last year $9.888.00 was distributed. John recognized the Agnew, Mahoney, and McDonald families for their support in getting the Foundation started.
Arthur Agnew then was introduced to make a presentation to the Foundation. Mr. Agnew said that he was making the presentation for his mother, Evelyn, who is PDG Art’s widow. He was proud to say at that he graduated from PHS and went to Oregon State on a football scholarship. He did well at Oregon playing football but his study habits carried more weight than football and he came home and attended SRJC. He eventually went to San Jose State and graduated with a degree in economics. He married his wife Carol in 1965 and has two daughters who in his exact words “Married Two Jackasses”. The inclement weather couldn’t hide the bright lights from the Boat Parade in the Petaluma Turning Basin and the festive spirit for the Members Holiday Party.
The holiday cheer was evident upon entry, thanks to the wonderful greeting we received from co-chairs KATHY O'CONNOR and HEIDI KIBBE.
After cocktails and conversation with Rotarians and guests, PRESIDENT TAWNY called the night to order.
STEVE RUSTAD was well prepared for leading us in song. The words were on the table for “Deck the Halls, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. The group did well with all the verses.

The wonderful meals of sirloin, salmon, risotto and chicken with all the trimmings were enjoyed by all. A dinner would not be complete without the infamous Rosen’s cheese cake for dessert.
For those of us who weren’t too full to move, the dance floor was open.
Congratulations to the committee for a job well done. It’s always a challenge to keep the party interesting each year.
The spirit of the season seemed evident by the smiling faces in the crowd as we celebrated the holiday season.
